Очень излюбленны говносборщиками эдакие «пакеты драйверов». в архиве занимающие кучу мегабайт. Зачастую пользователь не может выбрать конкретные драйвера для установки. Хорошо, если они просто распаковываются, занимая до нескольких гигабайт свободного места, а то ведь ещё устанавливаются и конфликтуют…
Дикая любовь говносборщиков к «portable» софту может качественно засрать:
Жёсткий диск — временными файлами.
Реестр — глючными ветками.
Авторан — ссылками на несуществующие файлы.
Память — незакрывающимися процессами.
Ваш моск — психологическими травмами.

Hey All, I hurriedly installed all of the last slew of Win 7 SP1 Updates, including the "Recommended" items, w/o reading the fine print. I received an unwanted Skype app. Immediately thereafter, my WMP ( versoin 12.0.7601.18741 ), using dual 52xCD(R)/8xDVD-R drives. ( 2010 Dell Studio XPS i5 Core Intel, 8 GB SDRAM, 1TB HDD, 10/100 Ethernet, ATI Radeon HD 5450 graphics, THX sound) started to freeze, and sometimes outright crash, during p/b of wma or mp3 files on my HDD. I uninstalled Skype, but to no avail. I would rather not do a System Restore if I can avoid it. I find the SysRes promises much; but for me at least, it has in fact solved very few of my many problems with MS OSs and associated apps, be they from MS or other vendors. Any ideas aside from first a Sys Res and then a total un/in of the entire WMP? Looking back on my experiences since 1993, from the advanced filing cabinet of MS-DOS, WFW 3.11, through the sanity challenging Win95, I have to say perhaps I would have been better off spending the extra $$ and going with Mrs. Jobs and Wozniak. I know Mr. Gates could not care less about my opinion, but instead of rushing out Win 8, why not take your time, check every character in every line of code written in Win 7, and give us a bullet proof architecture of an OS that will not need up to 15 "Important" and "Recommended" updates per week, almost all of them to patch security vulnerabilities? Just a thought, at least the hardware for these sleds yields a great number of choices, keeping the costs down, esp for DIYers. Thx, USOP31

Вероятно вы уже пробовали установить одинадцатую версию проигрывателя Windows Media. И вероятно, если вы являетесь “счастливым” обладателем нелицензионной версии Windows, вас постигло разочарование.
Как известно, начиная с Windows Media Player 11. Microsoft ввел обязательную проверку своей операционной системы на лицензионность и если будет обнаружено что она (система) эту проверку не прошла в установке новой версии проигрывателя будет отказано.
Но как всегда, оказалось что не все так страшно. Для того чтобы заиметь себе Windows Media Player 11, не нужен никакой кряк. лекарство или кейген :)
Достаточно только выполнить следующие пункты:
2. Любым архиватором (например 7-Zip ) распаковать скачаный файл в какую-нибудь папку.
3. Запустить и установить файлы - сначала umdf.exe, потом wmfdist11.exe, потом wmp11.exe.
4. Перезапустить компьютер.

Like many people, I’ve been trying to find an easier way to archive all of my movies and TV shows to hard disk instead of DVD disc. My previous attempt at semi-automated DVD ripping used an autoloader and some scripts, but it still required a lot of intervention because I couldn’t find a way to correctly name and tag my movies automatically. I wished there was something like CDDB or FreeDB for DVDs that would lookup metadata from the disc in the drive.
Windows Media Player does a lookup of the DVD metadata so I figured it had to be possible.
Thankfully, I’ve stumbled across an awesome utility that will get the DVD’s discid in the format Microsoft uses for their media player and media centers. http://dvdid.cjkey.org.uk/
Time to fire up Wireshark (or Ethereal if you’ve been doing this forever) and see where that request is going. I stuck the disc in my DVD drive and opened Windows Media Player. A couple of HTTP 302 redirects later I’ve got a HTTP 200 and the current request and reply.
Looking at the discid and the URL, it looks like it strips out the vertical bar pipe character | that was used in previous versions.
Opening the request gives me the URL. It looks like it’s using “User-Agent: Windows-Media-Player/12.0.7601.18741″. To avoid being ridiculously obvious while abusing this api, it might be a good idea to spoof your useragent as well.
Response is an XML file. Looks really straight forward to parse.
The request URL is super straight forward too. Just replace everything after the CRC= with the output from dvdid, removing the | character.
There doesn’t appear to be much of anything prevent this from being abused. It opened in a regular browser without issue. I used IE in this screenshot.
