Давным-давно, когда люди были железными, а корабли деревянными на заре становления эпохи видеонаблюдения, основной элемент этих систем — видеокамера — представлял собой немалых размеров вытянутый короб (в качестве регистрирующего датчика там применялся видикон — что-то вроде кинескопа наоборот). Немалый вес устройства стоил таких же немалых денег, а видео с камеры передавалось через аналоговый низкочастотный сигнал. Шли годы, благодаря развитию микроэлектроники видеокамеры стали мельчать. Видикон был заменен на полупроводниковую матрицу. Поначалу это была CCD-матрица, а чуть позже стали применяться и CMOS-матрицы. Схемы управления уменьшились до размеров нескольких чипов, в итоге получилось довольно компактное изделие. Росла разрешающая способность видеокамер, к настоящему моменту она уже достигла 600 ТВЛ. Но в процессе передачи видео на расстояние ничего не менялось — это был всё тот же низкочастотный видеосигнал, качество которого напрямую зависело от используемого кабеля, от правильности его монтажа, от места произрастания рук монтажника. В итоге имеем парадокс: даже если камера и обеспечивает 600 ТВЛ, то совсем не факт, что мы их увидим на другом конце кабеля.
Потребители требовали большего. И этим большим явился симбиоз обычной видеокамеры и сетевого (Ethernet) интерфейса. Ну в самом деле — каждый знает, что для компьютерной сети расстояния не имеют никакого значения. Новое устройство было наречено IP-камерой.
Сначала в таких IP-камерах применялись самые обычные матрицы, вроде тех, что стоят в аналоговых собратьях. Но вот кому-то в голову пришла светлая идея — ведь теперь нет зависимости от качества кабеля, а значит, можно и далее поднимать разрешение! Индустрия подхватила идею — на рынке стали появляться такие модели IP-камер. В нашей лаборатории мы неоднократно тестировали похожие устройства (к примеру Mobotix Q-22M или Mobotix MX-M12D-Night ). Однако, несмотря на их высочайшее качество, такие продукты нельзя назвать доступными — цена не просто кусается, она соответствует возможностям камер. Нечего и говорить: возможности там немалые.
Но однажды студёным зимним утром нам подвернулся случай протестировать более доступный по цене вариант — Grand IP Mеgapixel Camera, спроектированный и изготовленный руками умельцев из старинной азиатской артели на заводах Grandtec. Несколько дней ожидания — и вот коробка с IP-камерой в наших руках.

Начальная настройка камеры производится с персонального компьютера. Для этого необходима утилита IP Camera Tool.

Для установки камере статического IP адреса необходимо заполнить поля IP addres (ip адрес), Subnet Mask (маска подсети), Geteway (основной шлюз), DNS Server (dns сервер) и порт HTTP(порт по которому будет доступен WEB интерфейс, по умолчанию 80).
Если используется динамический IP адрес достаточно включить галочку Obtain IP from DHCP server.
Настройка видеосъемки и другие возможности IP камеры.
Для входа в WEB интерфейс камеры можно воспользоваться 2 способами:
1. Запустить IP Camera Tool 
. Найти необходимое нам устройство и дважды щёлкнуть ЛКМ.
2. Используя браузер (IE, Mozila, Google Chrome,Safari). Для входа на интерфейс устройства необходимо вписать его IP адрес (если стандартный порт был изменен указать новый порт. Пример http://192.168.0.12:88) в адресную строку браузера.
После открытия WEB интерфейса будет произведена авторизация. Логин и пароль: login: admin, пароль по умолчанию отсутствует.
После авторизации осуществляется переход в меню выбора режима:

Необходимо установить надстройку и включить ActiveX в настройках обозревателя.
Управление и настройки IP камеры осуществляются через Web интерфейс. Камера имеет очень простой и интуитивно понятный интерфейс.
Управление камерой
Необходимо выбрать оптимальные настройки для камеры.
Resolution — настройка разрешения видео.
Mode — настройка частоты обновления экрана.
Bright — яркость.
Contrast — контраст изображения.
Управление камерой осуществляется при помощи джойстика.
Set presset position — камера запоминает своё положение, возврат к положению осуществляется кнопкой Call The presset position.
Vertical Patrol — камера осуществляет патруль по вертикальной дуге.
Stop Vertical Patrol — остановить патруль по вертикальной дуге.
Horizon Patrol — камера осуществляет патруль по горизонтальной дуге.
Stop Horizon Patrol — остановить патруль по горизонтальной дуге.
Switch On/Off — включение/отключение патрулирования.
Настройка сигнализации.
Для настройки сигнализации нужно выбрать вкладку Other > Alarm Service Settings
Для включения снимков при срабатывании сигнализации поставить галочку на Send Mail on Alarm и нажать Submit для сохранения настроек.
Настройка почтовых уведомлений
Для настройки сигнализации нужно выбрать вкладку Other > Mail Service Settings
Следует заполнить поля:
Sender — отправитель письма (от кого будет прислано письмо).
Receiver 1-4 — получатели (кому будет отправлено письмо).
SMTP Server — сервер исходящей почты.
SMTP Port — какой порт используется на сервере для отправки почты.
Transport Layer Security Protocol — используемый протокол.(Gmail поддерживает TLS используя порт 465. Gmail поддерживает STARTTLS используя порты 25/587)
Need Authentication — если почтовый сервер требует авторизации пользователя следует ввести логин и пароль, если авторизация не требуется галочку нужно снять.
Report Internet IP by Mail — сообщает IP адрес камеры по электронной почте.
Для сохранения настроек необходимо нажать кнопку Submit.
Настройка папок
Видео файлы и снимки в момент срабатывания сигнализации будут помещены в папки D:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Документы
Для изменения места хранения данных следует сделать следующее: Other > Path Settings>изменить путь к нужной папке с помощью кнопки Browse…

These IP Cameras are very similar like Foscam FI8908W and the firmware is different than you have in your Foscam. If you update this ip camera with the last FI8908W firmware, it will restart every 20 seconds and impossible reset the firmware. To solve this problem is noy easy, but is possible.
