Обновилась интернет-утилита NetLimiter. Предназначена для отслеживания приложений, которые пытаются получить доступ в интернет, и распределения полосы между ними. При помощи нее можно настраивать пределы максимальной скорости соединения, как на скачивание, так и закачивание для отдельного приложения или единственного подключения. Если говорить проще – она распределяет использование полосы для конкретных приложений на компьютере. Таким способом можно с легкостью вести контроль и учет трафика.
NetLimiter доступен в трех версиях: Lite, Pro и Monitor. Все они различаются своими возможностями. Первая из них позволяет производить только настройку использования скорости для приложений. Pro вариант - самый функциональный. Кроме настроек полосы, отображает графики со скоростью соединения, настраивает фильтры и правила для конкретных приложений, собирает статистику по использованному трафику, выводит подробные сведения о приложениях, а так же удаленно администрируется и может устанавливать индивидуальные права доступа. Последняя функция превращает программу фактически в межсетевой экран. Версия Monitor собирает только статистику по приложениям.

With the help of NetLimiter Monitor you can monitor network traffic and specify download and upload transfer rate limits for apps easily. It mainly caters to advanced users, such as network administrators.
The interface is based on a standard frame with a plain layout, where you can view all services linked to the Internet, along with the incoming and outgoing speed.
NetLimiter Monitor also displays offline and programs. In the last tab it lists processes of all types.
You can view statistics on any selected process to find out traffic detected in the last period (e.g. current day or month), along with stats measured for your computer, local network, and Internet.
In addition, you can ask NetLimiter Monitor to report data automatically at a specific time interval. It allows you to manage networks when it comes to the address, mask, zone, download and upload bandwidth limit, and adapter.
As far as program customization goes, you can hide the tool’s tray icon or enable it to minimize to system tray, as well as select a different language for the GUI.
NetLimiter Monitor does not hog system resources, since it has a minimal impact on overall performance. No error dialogs were shown in our tests, and the app did not hang or crash. Unfortunately, NetLimiter Monitor is not particularly intuitive. Plus, it has not been updated for a while, and it is not compatible with newer operating systems.

Do you know which applications and processes connect to the Internet on your computer. If you use a firewall chance is that you had to define rules to allow certain programs the right to connect to the Internet. Sometimes however users think of this as a burden and use low security settings to prevent that they are being pestered all day with questions from their firewall.
The result? All programs can connect freely to the Internet. While most certainly do so legitimately, for instance to download updates or to display websites, others may be sending data about your computer to a server on the Internet or even steal files from it.
Netlimiter 2 Monitor is a sweet software that displays all open processes and applications on the system detailing their incoming and outgoing bandwidth along with ports, IP addresses and process numbers. That's basically the same amount of information that my previous favorite Currports is displaying but with the addition of bandwidth which CurrPorts is not displaying.
The first difference is that Netlimiter Monitor has a history feature where it is displaying which applications have connected to the Internet before on your system. Great for quickly checking out if an app is among the list that should not be there. Note that the history only dates back to the date you have installed Netlimiter on your system and not before that time.
It's definitely a great application if you want to evaluate the bandwidth usage of a process or software. I used it to keep an eye on Skype to see if my computer was used as a Skype supernode .
Both the Lite and Pro version are not free while NetLimiter Monitor is. The lite version supports setting limits for programs which the Monitor application does not.
The Pro version of Netlimiter adds some interesting functions like Traffic Shaping, Network support, Network Tools like Whois and Traceroute, Remote Administration and Advanced Rules that the two other versions do not support at all.
The program is available as a 32-bit and 64-bit version for all supported versions of the Windows operating system. Note that you need to register the product for free on the developer website.

· Rule editor helps you to create advanced rules. For example, you can create limit or firewall rule for a group of applications which is valid only in a given time interval (=you can schedule limits, grants and fw rules).
Network manager:
· Using Network manager you can assign networks present on you computer to NetLimiter zones. It's also possible to add your own networks.
Statistics:
· NetLimiter stats module is intended for long-term measurement of internet traffic. This feature lets you to track your internet traffic history since you've installed NetLimiter 2. NetLimiter is able to automatically export statistical data to disk.
Traffic chart:
· This feature is known from previous version of NetLimiter. Traffic chart shows application's or connection's real time activity.
Remote administration:
· You can control and monitor other computers remotely from one place.
· NetLimiter provides you with and additional information like WHOIS, traceroute etc.
· This feature will be included soon. NetLimiter 2 will log all important network events into the log file.
Permissions editor:
· With this tool, you can decide, which user is allowed to monitor or control network traffic.
