i recently started working on more XML data since i am trying to do more data transfer between databases. i use notepad++ as my main editor and i wanted to keep using it with my XML data without having the need of installing another program on my computer. i found out that that there was a plugin develop for notepad++ in order to allow me to use it as my XML editor. the problem was that there was no documentation on how to install what file and where. below you will be able to find the proper steps on how to do so.

Чем дальше, тем больше AutoCAD и продукты на его основе “завязываются” на xml. Понятно почему: удобный вариант хранения сколь угодно сложной структуры, парсер гарантированно встроен в систему ну и теде.
Достаточно давно я разработал набор функций, которые позволяют нормально работать с xml-документом. Как выяснилось в процессе работы, в основном стоит задача чтения данных (благо заполняю я xml-файлы либо в Notepad++, либо в Microsoft XML Notepad, либо в MS Visual Studio). Но – функции есть, и предоставлю я их целиком.
Предупреждаю сразу: пост получился очень длинный, набор функций, как всегда, в самом конце

1. Выделение блоков
Box Selection (или выделение колонок, блоков или прямоугольников) есть и в Notepad++. Вам нужно зажать клавишу Alt, выполняя выделение и обвести мышкой прямоугольник. Также есть возможность выделить блок горизонтально.
Нажмите Ctrl+H - "Replace" - поиск и замена текста в открытом файле, во всех открытых файлах.
Нажмите Ctrl+H - "Find in files" - поиск и замена текста в выбранной ниже директории. Очень удобно, когда надо найти кусок текста в папке.
3. Вертикальный просмотр вкладок, просмотр двух вкладок одновременно
Предположим, вам нужно просмотреть два файла, и вручную сравнить их друг с другом. Вы можете открыть вкладки в режиме вертикального просмотра. Для этого кликните по tab > “Move to Other View (переключиться на другой режим)”. Для переключения режимов просмотра можно использовать клавишу F8.
4. Удаление номеров строк или первого слова
В основном, когда мы копируем код с сайта, и вставляем его, у нас отображаются номера строк или специальные символы, которые нам нужно исключить. В notepad++ это можно сделать без труда.
Установить плагин TextFX в плагинах. TextFX > TextFX Tools > Delete Line Numbers or First word
5. Автоматическое закрытие HTML/XML-тэгов
Если вы работаете с HTML или XML-файлами, редактор автоматически закрывает за вами каждый HTML-тег.
Установить плагин TextFX в плагинах. TextFX > TextFX Settings>Autoclose XML/HTML tags
6. Автозакрытие скобочек
Установить плагин XBrackets Lite в плагинах.
7. Сравнение двух файлов
Установить плагин Compare в плагинах.
8. Добавить панель с HTML тегами-кнопками
Установить плагин WebEdit в плагинах.
9. HTML-кодировка (конвертирование в символы)
Можно использовать для публикации исходников HTML-кода.
XML notepad 2007 is a fantastic tool for basic XML editing and XSLT transformation testing.

Main features of XML Notepad 2007:1) The nodes of the XML are represented in a tree structure on the left hand side
2) The corresponding text values and the attributes of the nodes are displayed on the right side and are editable
3) New nodes, attributes, text etc can be added by right clicking at required position on the tree structure
4) Validation errors if any will be shown in the bottom part of the window
5) It has a very handy Xpath querying facility through the Find functionality (Edit > Find or Ctrl+F). This can be very useful while working with large XML documents:
6) You can run XSLT transformations on the currently loaded XML and also view the results right inside XML Notepad 2007. For this, go to XSLT Output tab, click on “…” button select the XSLT file you want to apply to the current XML. Click on transform, it will show the results of the transformation:

In all, XML Notepad 2007 is a very handy tool for basic XML and XSLT editing. It does not have advanced features but for a free tool it does provide pretty decent functionalities.
