Camera drivers and codecs

Following are links to third-party software packages which might be required to use certain cameras with Blue Iris:

The K-Lite Codec Pack is highly recommended for Windows systems which have need to open and play MP4, MOV, M2T and other de-facto standard video formats not typically supported by Windows.

For Techwell 68xx chipset based video cards (some QSee models for example), we have found this WDM driver for 32-bit Windows.

On Windows Server 2008 you must enable the “Desktop Experience” feature of your OS in order to enable Windows Media encoding.

In order to use the Hikvision DS-40xx cards, download DS40xxSDK.dll and save it into your Blue Iris program folder. It may also be necessary to use a specific version of the card’s driver.

The Vitamin Decoder 2.1 is used to connect to many popular DLink and Vivotek models, such as the DCS-2000,2100 and 3220, as well as the 4XEM MPEG4 cameras.

The Microsoft sample capture program AmCap can be used to test general connectivity with webcams and analog camera cards and devices (not network cameras). If your device works with AmCap, it should work with Blue Iris and vice-versa.

We offer a replacement flash memory image for the GS4000 in order to allow it to work with Blue Iris.

We offer a replacement flash memory image for the GS4600 in order to allow it to work with Blue Iris.

To use the EyeView or Etrovision models, please download the Etrovision.zip file, unzip to a folder, and run the reg.bat file to add the DLLs to your system.

How to update third-party software

How to update third-party software

Kaspersky Security Center 10 allows to update software installed on client hosts and thus to eliminate vulnerabilities in Microsoft programs and other third-party software by installing the necessary updates.

Kaspersky Security Center 10 searches for updates using the search for updates task and loads updates into the updates storage. Once the update search is complete the program provides an administrator with the information about available updates and vulnerabilities in the programs which can be eliminated with these updates.

Information about available Microsoft Windows updates is received from the Windows update center. Administration Server can be used as a Windows Update (WSUS) server, but in order to use an Administration Server as a Windows Update server, synchronization of updates with the Windows update center should be configured.

To create Windows Update synchronization task with an Administration Server, do the following:

  1. In the console tree in the Applications and vulnerabilities folder select Software updates .
  2. Click the link Configure Windows Update synchronization to start the configuration wizard to receive the data from Windows update center.
  3. Follow the steps of the wizard.

As a result the task Perform Windows Update synchronization is created. The task is displayed in the Administration Server task folder.

You can also manage software update via the Network Agent policies. For this, create or modify an existing Network Agent policy:

  1. In the Managed computers folder on the Policy tab click the link Create Policy to launch the policy creation wizard.
  2. In the wizard window Select an application for which you want to create a group policy select Kaspersky Security Center Network Agent .
  3. On the next step Software updates and vulnerabilities check the box Use Administration Server as WSUS-server .
  4. In the Windows Update search mode section select one of the variants:

Online. Administration Server uses Network Agent to make Windows update agent on a client host access an update source: Windows Update Servers or WSUS. Next, Network Agent gives the information received form the Windows update agent to Administration Server .

Offline. In this mode Network Agent periodically sends to Administration Server the update information received from Windows update agent; this information is received during the last synchronization of the Windows update agent with an update source. If Windows update agent does not synchronize with an update source, then the update data on the Administration Server become outdated.

Third Party

Get a quote CLASP is an acronym for:

and the name we give to software which has been specially adapted or developed to be compatible with Colortrac scanners. The membership of CLASP product providers is drawn from specialist solutions and software companies whose product makes use of large format document scanners. These companies have worked with our scanners in most cases to integrate direct driver support for SmartLF scanners and also have the option to engage in reciprocal product marketing activity with Colortrac Ltd.

Most CLASP members regularly receive Software Development Kits or SDKs free-of-charge for the Colortrac models as they appear on the market. Colortrac in return for the programming instructions will always insist on a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) completed by the participating company (standard practice).

Reciprocal website linking is encouraged as part of the agreement. Colortrac however reserve the right to remove the name or link of any company at any time.

Membership Level (grading)

CLASP product compatibility with large format scanners can take three basic forms.

Most software which is raster based will accept TIFF scan data and this represents the lowest criteria for CLASP membership and compatibility with Colortrac scanners. We grade this as CLASP Level III.

Software products that have a TWAIN interface and/or accept the WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) enabled scannners are graded Level II. Microsoft Paint operates with SmartLF in WIA mode but generally there is variation in the implementation of Twain/WIA across applications. Companies like SCP produce comprehensive Twain drivers for SmartLF. Providers in this category are graded Level II.

Companies who have used the Software Development Kit (SDK) to develop a direct driver to connect with Colortrac scanners are graded Level I. This represents a high degree of technical involvement with Colortrac technology. Most of the companies are Level I CLASP developers.

Third-party software component

Third-party software component

In computer programming. third party software component is a reusable software component developed to be either freely distributed or sold by an entity other than the original vendor of the development platform. The third party software component market thrives because component oriented development improves the efficiency and quality of developing custom applications.

Microsoft Visual Basic spawned the first commercially viable market for reusable software components. Visual Basic's first extensibility mechanism was the specification for Visual Basic Extension s, commonly known as "custom controls".

In version 4.0 of Visual Basic, the OCX custom control was introduced to replace VBX. OCX was later renamed ActiveX and then COM. In version 7.0 of Visual Basic, also known as VB.NET. Microsoft introduced the .NET Component to replace both VBX and ActiveX. It was still possible to use many ActiveX components in VB.NET by wrapping them in a .NET layer.

Compatibility with Third-Party Software - Tunngle Wiki

From Tunngle Wiki Compatibility with Third Party Software

The Computer world is various and even though everyone does his best, there is a lot of software around and sometimes two program just won't fit properly on the same machine.

This page is meant to collect all the known issues and solutions for those programs that interfere or simply cause troubles to the Tunngle operation.

Comparing the list of the software that is installed on your machine with this one, you can probably solve some issues a lot quicker.

Below you can find the list of the software that is known to interfere with Tunngle.

This page can be edited by every member of the Tunngle Community with access to the wiki.

Please post the various programs in alphabetical order and respect the proper format.

Ad Muncher

Known Issues

  • Graphical User Interface glitches when Ad Muncher is running.
  • Scrolling problems when Ad Muncher is running.
  • Ad Muncher seems to interfere with the Tunngle Graphical User Interface even when Tunngle is in the Filtering Exceptions and when Ad Filtering is completely disabled.
  • Press the DON'T PANIC Button to restore some Graphical User Interface Elements.
  • Shut down or uninstall Ad Muncher.
Advanced SystemCare

Known Issue

  • Tunngle adapter gets disconnected automatically.
  • When Advanced SystemCare service is running, the Tunngle adapter will get disconnected and will show "Network cable unplugged" even when Tunngle is running.
  • Go to Start > Run or hit Windows key + R key
  • Type in msconfig and press enter
  • Go to Services tab and disable the service for Advanced SystemCare
  • Click "Ok" or "Apply"
  • Reboot PC to apply changes.
Bigfoot Killer Network Card Drivers

Known Issues

  • Network disconnections and Internet connection loss when starting Tunngle.
  • Inability to join host, find or join games.
  • The Lag and Latency Reduction technology implemented by Bigfoot uses a Network Processing chipset to completely bypass the Windows Network Stack. Unfortunately the Windows Network Stack is needed for Tunngle in order to do its magic.
  • Turn on the App Mode for Tunngle.exe, Tnglctrl.exe and the game executable. When configured in App Mode the card works as a normal NIC. App Mode can be viewed as a ‘fail-safe’ mode that can be used to run programs that like VPN clients require access to the Windows® Network Stack which would be bypassed in game mode.
  • For some models, Game and App Mode can be changed at any time by right clicking on your Killer Tray icon and selecting a mode. It also appears in Killer Configuration.
  • For some other models you can open the C:\ProgramData\Bigfoot Networks folder and edit the GameDetect.xml (sometimes it's GameDetect.ini ) file adding a bypass rule (sometimes it's Whitelist) for Tunngle.exe. Tnglctrl.exe and the game executable in the ByPassSection of the GameDetectSettings. More here or here .
  • For any model that comes with Bigfoot Networks Killer Network Manager, you can access it via the task-bar, either by double clicking, or right-clicking the icon and selecting "Killer Network Manager". Within the options available, is the ability to select priority degrees for individual applications. Setting the priority to "3 - Normal" has been shown to resolve issues for Astral Masters, Spectromancer, and Neverwinter Nights 2. Note: Other games such as Pocket Tanks or Virtual Playtable seem to work regardless. The information for this point was tested true on a Win 7 64b system, using a Bigfoot Killer Ethernet Controller (Firmware version 6.0.0.2x Software version 1.1.0.310) & Killer Network Manager v.6.1.0.310
  • Use another Network Card to connect to the Internet
cFosSpeed - The Internet Accelerator

Known Issues

  • If you have cFosSpeed installed you might get stuck at "Connecting the adapter".
  • If you have cFosSpeed installed you might get and endless Tunngle adapter selection loop.
  • The cFosSpeed network driver causes problems to the Tunngle adapter configuration.
  • Go to Windows->Start->Run and type ncpa.cpl. Right click over the Tunngle Adapter and disable the cFosSpeed driver.
CyberGhost

Known Issues

  • If you have CyberGhost installed, you may get problems related to the Tunngle adapter.
  • Tunngle may not be able to connect to the adapter.
  • You may get Error:4-109 if you have CyberGhost installed.
  • CyberGhost also uses a TAP Windows V9 network adapter. And when CyberGhost is installed Tunngle may not be able to use it's own adapter "TAP-Win32 Adapter V9 (Tunngle)" even though the adapters are different.
  • Go to Device Manager when you are not using Tunngle
  • Now double click on "Network Adapters" and disable TAP-Win32 Adapter V9 (Tunngle)
  • Before you want to use Tunngle, go to Device Manager again and enable the Tunngle adapter

Note: Remember to disconnect it everytime you start CyberGhost otherwise you'll have to reinstall Tunngle in order to make it work. Also after using CyberGhost go to your "Network and Sharing Center" click on the connection that says "No Internet Access" and disable that every time after you shut down CyberGhost.

Known Issues

  • If you have Hamachi installed you might get stuck at "Connecting the adapter".
  • If you have Hamachi installed you might not be able to find, join or host any game.
  • If you have Hamachi installed your Internet connection might stop working when you start Tunngle.
  • Hamachi's VPN adapter seems to interfere with the Tunngle adapter.

ThirdPartyApplications - The Official Wine Wiki

Third Party Applications

Over time, there have been a variety of Third Party Applications that have attempted to make Wine more useful or easier to use.

It is important to understand that although these third party applications may make Wine more usable, they are not supported by the Wine project. If you have questions regarding the use of a third party application, please use the support mediums provided by that third party rather than Wine HQ.

Why Third Party Applications Exist

Users want to run applications and sometimes a change to Wine can cause an application to work, but this change cannot be incorporated into Wine for some reason. For example, the change may break Wine for other applications and/or platforms. As such changes to Wine must meet some level of QA. If the change is a dirty hack to Wine's source code that allows an application to run, then the change may end up within Wine's source code only after it has been properly fixed.

In theory, any third party application here is essentially a temporary workaround until underlying bugs in Wine can be fixed properly. As wine improves, parts or all of these third party applications may become obsolete or incompatible with Wine (at least until the third party provides a suitable update).

Current Third Party Applications The applications below should work with the latest Wine and are still being maintained.
