Ever wanted to sale your old iPhone? The first thing you must do is to backup your contacts by copying all contacts from iPhone to your SIM card. As iPhone don't support copying contacts from its memory to your SIM card, so you need a third-party application called "SIManager". SIManager is an app which not only allows you to copy all of your iPhone's contacts to your SIM memory but also allows you to delete old contacts from your SIM.

Once copied, take your SIM out of your iPhone and put it in your new cell phone to copy all contacts from it to phone's memory!
SIManager is a free app available via Cydia Store that copies the contacts stored on your iPhone to SIM card. If you are like me who changes the mobile phone frequently, from iPhone to Symbian, from android to Windows etc, this app is a real time saver.
iPhone can import contacts from SIM card but it doesn’t allow you to save / copy / move the contacts on your SIM card. But SIManager will help you to move the contacts from iPhone to SIM card .
SIManage can be installed from the iSpazio repo after jailbreaking your iPhone. The overall UI of this app is very simple. After launching the app, tap on “Copy iPhone to SIM” to transfer the contacts from iPhone to SIM. SIManager also provides some other options which are shown in the picture below.
Now if you want to move these contacts that are on your SIM to your iPhone, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Import SIM Contacts. All the contacts that are on your SIM card will be transferred to your iPhone.
As I told you this app is availabe from Cydia, so you will have to jailbreak your iPhone first to download this app from the Cydia Store. If you have not jailbroken your iPhone/iPod/iPad, head over to this post to learn step by step jailbreaking process .
These are instructions on how to read, copy from, and write contacts to your iPhone's SIM card using SIManager.
1 - Press to launch Cydia from your iPhone Springboard.
2 - Press to search Tab from the tabs at the bottom of the screen and search SIManager.
3 - Select SIManager and Press the Install button at the top right of the screen.
4 - Once installation has completed successfully press the Return to Cydia button.
5 - Press the Home button to return to your Springboard then tap the SIManager icon to launch the application.
6 - Once the program has opened you can use the Setup button at the top left to enable Fast Read as well as set the SIM name format. ie Firstname/Lastname or Lastname/Firstname.
7 - To read your contacts from the SIM card press the Read from SIM button at the bottom of the screen.
Once all the contacts have been loaded they will be displayed on the screen.
8 - You can press to select a contact and choose to Modify, Delete, or Import it.
9 - To add a contact to your SIM card you can press the + button at the bottom of the main screen.
Navigate through your contacts and select the one you would like to add.
Then select the specific number or press the Add all button if you would like to add all the contacts numbers. Press the SIManager button at the top left to return to the main screen.
You will notice that the contact has been added to the list and appears on a green background. This means that when you write to the SIM card this contact will be added.
Press the Write to SIM button at the bottom right to commit your changes to the SIM card. Notice when you are done the contact now appears on a black background similar to the other contacts in your list.
10 - SIManager also allows you to copy all the contacts on your iPhone to the SIM card. Press the Gear icon at the bottom of the screen then press the large Copy iPhone to SIM button.
You will be asked to confirm this action. Press the OK button.
If you have more then 200 numbers you may be informed that the SIM is full. Press the large OK button.
To commit the changes to the SIM card press the Write to SIM button at the bottom of the screen.
11 - You can also use SIManager to empty your SIM card. Press the Gear icon at the bottom of the screen then press the Empty SIM button.
12 - Press the OK button to confirm the action.
Notice all the numbers to be deleted have a red background. Press the Write to SIM button to commit the changes.
Once done your list of contacts on the SIM card will be empty!

SIManager is a new tweak from Giovanni Chiappini and inspired by iSpazio. It lets you import, edit, and write new SIM contacts. SIManager is a beta release and you can test and help the developer by reporting bugs. SIManager has been newly updated to version 1.2 and introduced various improvements and fixes several bugs in the first release. Developers need people who can report problems with precision and so on, so if you’re interested and brave enough, you can download it and try adding the repository beta BeYouriPhone http://test.beyouriphone.com. needn’t to mention again but app is in beta version and we recommend to install the app for advanced users only, if you are not comfortable with SSH and contacts backup wait for the final build/release.
These contacts, once imported, can be modified according to the functions present in the “Contacts”. These changes also will be reported in second SIManager different colors:

Whats New In This Version:
- Proper moving numbers with international prefix (eg +39)
- The option 'Add to SIM' immediately truncate the name to 14 characters, which is the limit imposed by the SIM, to make them realize the actual name that is written into the card
- Added the option 'Copy iPhone to SIM' which will take all your contacts and register them in the SIM, joining the other items already available in the database
- Spaces and special characters in the number to be imported into SIM will be removed in order to avoid the error when writing
- Added the ability to move quickly in the list of numbers of the SIM with a double tap on the bar with the inscription 'SIManager (xxx)': double tap on the left - start list, double tap in the center - mid list, double tap on the right - end of list.
