Именно такое наставление дает автор знаменитой операции, генерал Гаррисон своим солдатам, взмывающим вверх. Как справедливо тогда заметит один из рейнджеров: «Раньше он так не говорил».

Действительно у генерала было некое плохое предчувствие, что что-то может пойти не так. Однако даже он не подозревал, что операция, на которую отводилось от силы час, растянется на весь день, всю ночь и утро. Силы противника были недооценены. Оказывается, обыкновенный чернокожий паренек с РПГ, может подбить вертолет. Что поделать?

Конечно в истории есть полным полно примеров того, как из-за недооценки силы врага битва проигрывалась. Однако именно вот этот пример, бездумно посланых в самое логово врага солдат, показывает что начальство не особо заморачивается по-поводу того сколько человек погибнет и как оправдываться потом перед семьями погибших. А что?Начеркаем быстренько письмецо с красивой ложью и наша совесть чиста.«Пентагон» не желает выделять силы в поддержку пехоте во время этой операции. И правда, зачем?Они ведь и так справятся, а если не справятся у нас будет тот, на кого мы все свалим, уважаемый Генерал Гаррисон.

Короче говоря, я думаю вы поняли и сами, что «нецелесообразное расходывание военного ресурса» сейчас, как и раньше крайне распространено. Фубор.

Однако Гаррисона можно понять. Он тоже человек. Да, он не расчитал некоторых «но». Однако он не мог ничего не предпринять. Пентагон подгоняет его, ведь вместо отведенных четырнадцати дней на поимку генерала, проходит уже целых три недели. Нужно срочно что-то предпринимать. Помощи от пентагона ждать не приходится, обойдемся своими силами. Вот и обошлись.

Операция и вправду могла бы завершится быстро, если бы не сбили вертушку, ту самую, которую называют «Чёрный Ястреб». Сбили одну, сбили другую, вот уже и ночь.

Своих не бросать, вытаскивать пилотов, оказывать им помощь. Смерти тянутся одна за другой, пытаясь оказать помощь пилотам, втягиваются все большие и большие силы.«Мы теряем инициативу»-точно подметил генерал, после того как была сбита первая вертушка. Знакомая любому человеку дрожь в коленах и ужас в глазах, узнаются в Гаррисоне в конце фильма, когда он заходит в полевой госпиталь, куда принесли раненых и принимается вытирать кровь, текущую с операционного стола. Где это видано, что бы генерал сам вытирал пол?Однако чувство вины пожирает Гаррисона.

Больше всего мне нравятся в фильме концовка, те факты, которые привели нам создатели фильма.«Сержанты группы „дельта“ Гари Гордон и Ренди Шуггарт стали первыми, кто был награжден „Орденом Славы“ посмертно, после вьетнамской войны»(значит все-таки кроме положенной денежной компенсации, семьям этих двух ребят была предложена суровая гордость за то, что «они положили все самое дорогое на альтарь свободы».)

Приятно что пилота Майка Дюранта освободили через 11 дней после заключения. Значит смерть Гари и Ренди была не напрасной.

«Гаррисон взял на себя полную ответственность за последствия операции»-ну еще бы. Не взял бы, так на него повесили б. Все как всегда.

Примечательно, что сразу на следующий день после смерти Айдида, Гаррисон подал в отставку. Отомстил за парней, совесть чиста, теперь можно и на заслуженный отдых.

Я бы мог написать эту рецензию в стандартном стиле, однако тогда бы она вся была под завязку напичкана скушными фразочками по-типу:«Отличный фильм!»;«Отличная игра актеров!»;«Отличная операторская и режиссерская работа!»;«Отличный саундтрек!»(спасибо дяде Зиммеру)

Nova (Black Hawk)

The Nova is a versatile medium OmniMech that is capable of acting as a workhorse design in most forces. In fact, the design is so well balanced that it inspired the creation of the Black Hawk-KU . an Inner Sphere design based on the Nova and named using the Inner Sphere code name for this 'Mech: Black Hawk . [1] [4] [5]

However, the number of Nova s has been diminishing. Only spare parts have been in production since 2921. Designed as an early OmniMech by Clan Hell's Horses. the Nova was produced at the famous Tokasha Mechworks beginning in 2870. At the time of its introduction, the Nova was designed for infantry support, and was the first OmniMech designed with hardpoints allowing Elementals to easily mount and dismount the chassis. However, after Tokasha was taken by Clan Ghost Bear during the Battle of Tokasha. production of the Nova ceased. Since 2921, every Clan has acquired Nova OmniMechs as isorla. [1] [4] [5]

Equipped with a 250 XL Model SF-2 Fusion Engine, the Nova has a ground speed of 86.4 km/h that allows it to keep up with most heavy and assault 'Mechs while being outpaced by most lighter 'Mechs. However, the Nova remains very maneuverable through the use of five jump jets. allowing the Nova to jump up to 150 meters. The fourteen double heat sinks that the Nova mounts are barely sufficient to handle its heavy heat load of its variants. The Nova is also protected by ten tons of armor, providing the 'Mech with ninety-six percent of its maximum armor protection. [1] [4] [5]

In its primary configuration the Nova is a devastating close combat 'Mech and battle armor killer that is capable of delivering a powerful barrage with its twelve ER Medium Lasers. To help it use these as effectively as possible, the Nova has added four more double heat sinks bringing the total up to eighteen. Even with the added double heat sinks, the Nova prime is capable of producing almost twice as much heat as it can dissipate. [1] [4] [5]

• Alt. Config. A  A long range sniper configuration, the Nova A has a pair of powerful Clan ER PPCs for long range combat. For protection at close range, the Nova A has a single Medium Pulse Laser and also mounts two Anti-Missile Systems for protection from missile fire. BV (1.0) = 2,298 [2]. BV (2.0) = 2,422 [1] [6]

• Alt. Config. B  Also designed around long range combat, the B configuration carries an Ultra Autocannon/5 which can fire twice as fast as a standard autocannon and a highly accurate Large Pulse Laser as its primary weapons. These are backed up for close combat by an ER Small Laser and, for soft targets, it has two Machine Guns. BV (1.0) = 1,501 [2]. BV (2.0) = 1,543 [1] [7]

• Alt. Config. C  The C configuration of the Nova has a powerful Gauss Rifle as its primary weapon, allowing it to keep enemies at arm's reach. For protection at close ranges, the Nova C has a highly accurate Small Pulse Laser and an SRM 4. BV (1.0) = 1,455 [2]. BV (2.0) = 1,515 [1] [8]

• Alt. Config. D  Intended as a fire support 'Mech, the D configuration has an LRM-20 launcher for long range direct and indirect fire support and an LB-X Autocannon/5 that allows it to work as a vehicle hunter and in an anti-aircraft role. BV (1.0) = 1,392 [2]. BV (2.0) = 1,450 [1] [9]

• Alt. Config. E  The Nova E carries an ATM-12 launcher that can fire missiles for short, medium, and long ranges as its primary weapon. For added close range capability, the 'Mech has three ER Medium Lasers. BV (1.0) = 2,315 [2] (2,340) [10]. BV (2.0) = 2,078 [1] [11]

• Alt. Config. F  Similar to the E, the Nova F wields three ER Medium Lasers. In addition, it has a Hyper-Assault Gauss Rifle 20. BV (2.0) = 1,976 [1] [12]

• Alt. Config. H  A highly feared configuration of the Nova. the H configuration carries ten Heavy Medium Lasers. allowing the Nova H to eviscerate most 'Mechs that get into its range. BV (1.0) = 1,552 [2]. BV (2.0) = 1,832 [1] [13]

• Alt. Config. S  The S configuration is made for urban combat. The 'Mech has six highly accurate Medium Pulse Lasers. For use against soft targets, the Nova S has four Machine Guns. For added protection from missile attacks, the 'Mech has an Anti-Missile System. It also carries an Active Probe to detect any hidden enemy units. BV (1.0) = 2,063 BV (2.0) = 2,061 [1]. 2,056 [14]

• Alt. Config. U  This unusual configuration appears to be used to support boarding actions against enemy spacecraft. Two torso mounted Liquid Storage tanks provide additional reaction mass for the jump jets. Eight machine guns can rapidly destroy enemy battle armor, while three Heavy Medium Lasers and three Micro Pulse Lasers scour the armor off of hardened targets. To keep track of enemy units, the U configuration carries a Light Active Probe. and a Clan ECM Suite interferes with enemy targeting systems. The right arm carries a Spot Welder presumably to seal hull breaches. Strangely, this configuration carries a Sword. marking the first time a Clan unit has carried a dedicated melee weapon. The Aviationist - Stealth Black Hawk

This week, Sikorsky is expected to start the assembly of the S-97 Raider helicopter prototype, Defense News reports .

The helicopter, among the choppers pitched for the U.S. Army’s Armed Aerial Scout program, to replace the Army’s aging fleet of OH-58 Kiowa Warriors, in use since the late 1960s, features a futuristic shape (compared to that of current helos) and is based on Sikorsky’s X-2 technology.

The S-97 will be a high-speed helicopter with coaxial main rotors and pusher propeller with a capability to either accomodate six troops or sensor in addition to the two pilots in the typical side-by-side cockpit.

The image of the first fuselage, released by Sikorsky, brings to light some interesting details about the Raider and a loose similarity with the MH-X Stealth Black Hawk helicopter exposed by the Osama Bin Laden raid .

Not only the Raider’s nose section is compatible with the concept I developed with AviationGraphic’s Ugo Crisponi in 2011 but the new chopper features a retractable landing gear is a feature that we thought was among the things that could keep the MH-X stealth and silent.

Most probably the MH-X (whose shape remains unknown) is different from the S-97, however it is safe to believe tha Sikorsky has embedded some of the features developed for the secret, radar evading U.S. Army Stealth Black Hawk used by the Navy SEALs at Abbottabad in May 2011, in the new chopper pitched to the Army.

An interesting image has emerged from the prolific Chinese Internet.

It depicts a mysterious helicopter being moved on a truck in China. Even if the aircraft is hidden below a protective covering, its shape can be guessed.

The chopper seems to have something in common with the U.S. UH-60 Black Hawk, hence it may be a Z-20, a Chinese model believed to be based on the S-70C, a medium transport/utility helicopter manufactured by Sikorsky already in service with the People’s Liberation Army.

However, there is another intriguing and (less likely) possibility: China has reverse-engineered the Stealth Black Hawk helicopter used by the Navy SEALs in the Osama Bin Laden raid .

Obviously this is a far fetched theory, since only a few chunks survived the crash landing at Abbottabad. Still, on Aug. 14, 2011, several media outlets all around the world, published the news that China was given access by Pakistani intelligence to the remains of the Stealth Black Hawk used during Operation Neptune’s Spear.

What if they copied the general design of the tail rotor and, just like this author did with Ugo Crisponi. designed a chopper whose shape is similar to the one of the U.S. black MH-X or the Israeli Stealth Yanshuf ?

The answer is most probably: No, it isn’t.

The image that has been circulating on the Internet after Steve Douglass published it on his blog is nothing more than a Photoshopped photograph: at first glance it may look genuine, but it is a standard Black Hawk, digitally modified to make it similar to the prop used for the movie Zero Dark Thirty .

Douglass has published a detailed analysis of the image (including its EXIF file – that dates the image to May 2008….) on his site. This author calls it a fake because, among the other things, the nose cose is somehow irregular as if it was hand-modified.

As soon as the images of the actual Stealth Black Hawk crash landed inside the compound at Abbottabad during Operation Neptune’s Spear emerged, with the help of Ugo Crisponi, an artist at AviationGraphic.com ,we published a rendering of what the radar evading chopper might look like.

UH-60 Black Hawk - Military Aircraft

The Black Hawk is the Army?s front-line utility helicopter used for air assault, air cavalry, and aeromedical evacuation units. It is designed to carry 11 combat-loaded, air assault troops, and it is capable of moving a 105-millimeter howitzer and 30 rounds of ammunition. First deployed in 1978, the Black Hawk?s advanced technology makes it easy to maintain in the field. The Black Hawk has performed admirably in a variety of missions, including air assault, air cavalry and aeromedical evacuations. In addition, modified Black Hawks operate as command and control, electronic warfare, and special operations platforms.

The UH-60A, first flown in October 1974, was developed as result of the Utility Tactical Transport Aircraft System (UTTAS) program. The UTTAS was designed for troop transport, command and control, MedEvac, and reconnaissance, to replace the UH-1 Series "Huey" in the combat assault role. In August 1972, the U.S. Army selected the Sikorsky (model S-70) YUH-60A and the Boeing Vertol (model 237) YUH-61A (1974) as competitors in the Utility Tactical Transport Aircraft System (UTTAS) program. The Boeing Vertol YUH-61A had a four-bladed composite rotor, was powered by the same General Electric T700 engine as the Sikorsky YUH-60A, and could carry 11 troops. In December 1976 Sikorsky won the competition to produce the UH-60A, subsequently named the Black Hawk.

The Black Hawk is the primary division-level transport helicopter, providing dramatic improvements in troop capacity and cargo lift capability compared to the UH-1 Series "Huey" it replaces. The UH-60A, with a crew of three, can lift an entire 11-man fully-equipped infantry squad in most weather conditions. It can be configured to carry four litters, by removing eight troop seats, in the MedEval role. Both the pilot and co-pilot are provided with armor-protective seats. Protective armor on the Black Hawk can withstand hits from 23mm shells. The Black Hawk has a cargo hook for external lift missions. The Black Hawk has provisions for door mounting of two M60D 7.62mm machine guns on the M144 armament subsystem, and can disperse chaff and infrared jamming flares using the M130 general purpose dispenser. The Black Hawk has a composite titanium and fiberglass four-bladed main rotor, is powered by two General Electric T700-GE-700 1622 shp turboshaft engines, and has a speed of 163 mph (142 knots).

Elements of the US Army Aviation UH-60A/l Blackhawk helicopter fleet will begin reaching their sevice life goal of 25 years in 2002. In order for the fleet to remain operationally effective through the time period 2025-2030 the aircraft will need to go through an inspection, refurbishment, and modernization process that will validate the structural integrity of the airframe, incorporate improvements in sub-systems so as to reduce maintenance requirements, and modernize the mission equipment and avionics to the levels compatible with Force XXI and Army After Next (AAN) demands.

A Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) is planned for the UH-60 beginning in FY99. The UH-60 modernization program will identify material requirements to effectively address known operational deficiencies to ensure the Black Hawk is equipped and capable of meeting battlefield requirements through the 2025-2030 timeframe. Primary modernization areas for consideration are: increased lift, advanced avionics (digital communications and navigation suites), enhanced aircraft survivability equipment (ASE), increased reliability and maintainability (R & M), airframe service life extension (SLEP), and reduced operations and support (O & S) costs. Suspense date for the approved Operational Requirements Document (ORD) is December 1998.

In October 1989, the engines were upgraded to two General Electric T700-GE-701C 1890 shp turboshaft engines, and an improved durability gear box was added, resulting in a model designation change from UH-60A to UH-60L. The T700-GE-701C has better high altitude and hot weather performance, greater lifting capacity, and improved corrosion protection. The helicopter can carry a gross weight of 22,000 Lbs and an external load of 9,000 Lbs. The UH-60L variant can utilize an External Stores Support System or ESSS to expand its capabilities. The ESSS system consists of removable "four-station pylons" that can carry external fuel tanks that can extend the Blackhawk range up to 1,150 nautical miles or sixteen Hellfire missiles. Furthermore, Sikorsky states that the Blackhawk can store an additional sixteen Hellfire missiles internally, and deploy a wide range of weapons systmes ranging from guns to mine dispensers.
