Opera Software объявила о выходе финальной версии нового браузера Opera 15 для Windows и Mac. Программа может похвастаться улучшенным дизайном и рядом новых функций.

Opera 15 представляет собой масштабное обновление и работает на другом движке – Chromium. В компании утверждают, что последний привнес в работу программы соответствие актуальным нормативным требованиям и повышенную производительность.

Из браузера убрали почтовый клиент и закладки, зато добавили новую экспресс-панель, которая поможет упорядочить любимые сайты. Можно перетаскивать один элемент экспресс-панели на другой, чтобы сгруппировать их по тематике. В папках реализован новый поиск.

Функция «Копилка» позволяет собрать изображения сохраненных страниц в одном месте и получить превью данных страниц, которое к тому же можно еще изменять по размеру. Новая фича «Рекомендации» предоставляет пользователю свежий контент, который интересует именно его.

Вышла Opera 10 для Mac OS X

Opera, браузер, который из-за жадности его разработчиков (смешные люди, хотели сделать платный браузер) прижился исключительно на постсоветском пространстве и в Скандинавии, вышла уже в десятой юбилейной версии.

Десятку ждали все любители поющего браузера, и вот, вдоволь наигравшись с бетой и RC, могут наконец пощупать и полноценный релиз. Список всех новинок можно почитать на сайте компании. не буду повторяться, скажу лишь свое мнение. Браузер действительно быстр - вот единственное положительно впечатление. В сравнении с новыми Safari и Firefox он немного, но все-таки шустрее. А еще Opera 10, как и Safari 4, получила 100/100 в ACID 3.

Непонятно, что хотели вымутить в Opera software с вкладками, но они определенно перемутили, поместив их между панелью навигации и заголовком окна, хорошо хоть не внизу, зато оригинально. Фича с визуальными вкладками не более чем фича, так как полезности особой в ней не вижу, потому что ее использование возможно только в ущерб самого главного в браузере - окна, где отображается сайт.

А еще в Opera нет поддержки multi-finger gestures, как в Safari и Firefox, вот это действительно полезная фича, которую почему-то обошли своим вниманием при создании десятки.

Вообще браузер получился неплохим, любители Opera будут довольны, но при нормальной скорости подключения особой разницы в скорости загрузки страниц с другими нет, но при использовании мобильного интернета или (с чем черт не шутит) Dial-Up, Opera 10 предстанет во всей своей красе!

Out-of-Process Plug-ins

Opera now runs plug-ins as a separate process, allowing for more control when a plug-in misbehaves. This feature will enhance security and stability.

64-Bit Mac and Windows versions

The 64-bit version of Opera will offer performance improvements for some functions and allow Opera more freedom in allocating memory.

New, lightweight themes make it easier to customize the browser. Install or change themes at the click of a button, without restarting the browser. The themes gallery can be viewed here.

Address Field Enhancements

Numerous improvements to the address bar have been made:

• Improved address field and address bar drop-down suggestions
• Smart URL shortening in the address field drop-down
• The page title and the page excerpt will be used for full page search results
• URL and page content columns in the address field drop-down have been combined

Experimental Full Hardware Acceleration

Hardware acceleration allows Opera to offload graphics rendering from the processor (CPU) to the graphics card (GPU), making graphics intensive operations such as animations faster.

Right-to-Left (RTL) script support added, language support expanded

RTL support will bring additional stability for certain languages. Persian, Urdu, Hebrew, and Arabic languages added.

Windows and Tabs API

Extensions will now be able to interact with tabs, create tab groups, and manage windows.

Opera Unite, Opera Widget, and Opera Voice Discontinuation

Opera Unite and Opera Widgets will be off by default in Opera 12.00, and will eventually be phased out of the Opera browser in the future. Voice support will be removed as of Opera 12.00, as the voice-detection library is no longer supported by the third-party vendor.

Web Specifications Support

Opera 12.00 will include changes in the Opera Presto 2.10 engine up to core-integration-point 289. WebRTC Initial support for real-time communication has been added. Allowing the source of HTML5 video to be set to the user's webcam.

HTML5 Drag and Drop

Drag and drop enables webpages to have elements that the user can drag from one page to another, or from their desktop to the webpage.

CSS3 Animations and Transitions

Support for animations and transitions has been updated and expanded.

Added support for the Do Not Track (DNT) HTTP header.

Paged Overflow

An innovative new set of CSS constructs that allow webpages to be split up into paged media, revolutionizing the Web reading experience.

Вышла новая бета-версия браузера Opera 11 для Mac OS X которая получила порядковое обозначение 11.10.2048 и кодовое название «Barracuda», за которыми скрываются новый движок рендеринга Opera Presto 2.8, расширенная поддержка расширений, поддержка графического формата Google WebP, а также более проработанный интерфейс (например, больше не должно быть диалоговых окон с разъехавшимися сообщениями).

This is really odd. Occasionally when I open a torrent file, instead of Transmission (default) opening, Opera opens the torrent. How can that be? I don't have Opera. I've never installed Opera. I never thought about installing Opera. The crazy thing about it is it works (it loads up websites) but when I search for it in AppCleaner and in Spotlight, it's nowhere to be found. How is that possible? How can a program that I never installed be working on my computer?

I don't know where it came from. but when I right click on a picture file, under open with, "Photoshop, etc etc:" then "Opera" shows up! I tried to command F and delete all the files that says "Opera" yet I still can't get rid of Opera! It's not in my applications folder, etc. How do I get rid of it?

I use both Opera and Firefox. I recently had problems with Opera and switched to Firefox for a while - got to like it.
