Hey Naoki, I installed 1.42 over my old copy and did like you said and unchecked that box and started it from the start menu instead and it didn't work like you said it would.
It remembered some settings, like full screen immersion, but changed tile sets, changed the selector, changed the background and some other things.
I went to your web page to try to email you so that I could let you know about the problems but it said you are no longer offering tech support or allowing people to send you emails
That totally sucks. You want people to buy your program but you won't even let them email you any more? Lame.

BRUDDAMAN (Edit )> First of all, the DEFAULT theme is reset each time you reinstall the game. That's why there are THEMES in the first place: you just create your own, you save it, and you don't have to worry anymore.

I NEVER said I'm no longer offering tech support! I'm simply TEMPORARILY (until I can find someone who can do the job!) suspending E-MAIL support. That's what the forum is for in the first place: communicating with me and other users! That's where tech support happens now.
And yes, if you don't buy the game, you don't get tech support. Do you know how many e-mails I received per day? I'm a single person company, I don't have time for everyone! Especially when NINETY-NINE percent of the questions are already answered in the FAQ, or in the Windows Beginner Manual! ("How do I change music? How do I download your demo?") Does that deserve a 3/5 appreciation? I don't think so.

DudeBoyz> You can keep previous settings easily, in fact. When you install the new version, uncheck the "Launch Kyodai Mahjongg" option at the end, and launch it via the Start Menu. Your previous settings will be kept :)

Просматривая форумы и печатные издания, посвященные играм, я потихоньку начал впадать в тоску. Quake, Counter Strike и т.п. игры спинномозгового характера заполонили игровую индустрию. Сотни людей ежедневно сидят за своими мониторами и часами мучают мышку, отстреливая очередного террориста или монстра. А иногда так хочется чего-нибудь поспокойнее, чтобы подумать и помедитировать часок-другой перед компьютером.
Когда на меня находит подобное настроения, я немедля запускаю Куодаи. Эту игру можно вполне заслуженно назвать одной из лучших логических игр в мире. Маджонг (Mahjongg) — это особая разновидность китайских игр-головоломок с фишками. Нечто вроде известного каждому домино, но куда увлекательнее. Рене Гиллес Деберт, автор Куодаи — один из тех людей, кому нужно поставить памятник. Он с маленькой группой единомышленников и создал этот замечательный сборник. Да-да, Куодаи — это сборник из 7 игр, все со своими правилами и хитростями.
1) Solitaire — Пасьянс, но не карточный, к которому все привыкли, а особый, с фишками. На игровое поле укладываются в несколько рядов фишки с различными номерами. Щелкая на парах с одинаковым номером, вы убираете их с поля, причем убирать можно только фишки со свободным боком. Есть возможность игры вдвоем.
2) Rivers — Вместо раскладки возникает большая стена, заполненная фишками. Цель: удалить все фишки с доски, объединяя их одинаковыми парами.
3) Memory — Все фишки расположены лицом вниз, и вы можете открыть две из них. Если они одинаковые, они исчезнут. В противном случае они опять перевернутся, когда вы щелкнете снова. Игра заканчивается, когда вы удалите все фишки.
4) Clics — Нужно опять-таки очистить доску, удаляя группы фишек. Вы можете щелкнуть на группе фишек при условии, что несколько из них расположены рядом. Здесь действуют законы гравитации, и фишки, расположенные сверху от удаляемых, упадут вниз. А когда вы удалите столбец целиком, столбцы справа от него переместятся влево.
5) Lines — Думаю, комментарии излишни. Эту игру знают все.
6) Тетрис — Модификация знаменитой игры.
7) Кумика — слово, базирующееся на "Kumikae", которое по-японски означает "Рекомбинация". Цель игры, естественно, удалять фишки с доски.
Здесь это может быть сделано созданием горизонтальных или вертикальных линий (строк или столбцов) из 3 или более (одинаковых) фишек. Ваш единственный способ перемещать фишки — менять местами две горизонтально или вертикально смежные фишки. Если это действие создаст линию фишек, это будет принято во внимание и линия будет удалена, иначе ход будет отменен. Удаленные фишки будут заменены новыми, и таким образом вы можете продолжать игру так долго, насколько это возможно.
Немаленький набор, согласитесь.
Теперь о графике. И тут Куодаи даст 100 очков вперед любой аналогичной игре. Есть несколько режимов запуска игры и масса настроек. Да, Куодаи пойдет и на слабенькой машине без видеокарточки, и будет смотреться, надо заметить, весьма неплохо. Но если у вас нормальный видеоадаптер, тут будет на что посмотреть. Объемные, красочные фишки, тени и т.д. Плюс масса настроек: можно поставить различные уровни детализации, разные разрешения. В общем, игра потрясающе красива для головоломки.
Звук тоже не подкачал: масса мелодий, правда, в формате midi, но звучат они очень неплохо, во всяком случае, не надоедают. Есть и звуковые сообщения.
Еще хочется отметить массу дополнительных настроек. Можно поменять все: от цвета фона (можно и картинку повесить) до визуализации фишек. А особым фанатам придется по вкусу возможность нарисовать собственные, уникальные фишки. Игра прекрасно русифицирована, также в списке поддерживаемых языков присутствуют английский, немецкий и уйма других. Имеется функция сохранения, что редкость для логических игр, а также поддержка DirectX, не забыли и многопользовательскую игру (включая игру через Интернет).
Какой тут можно сделать вывод? Кто еще не играл — вперед скачивать и наслаждаться. Увлекательная, красивая и не слишком сложная игра. Точнее сборка игр. Даже те, кто не любит напрягать головной мозг, думаю, заинтересуются Kyodai. Ведь так здорово, придя уставшим домой, запустить тот же солитер или rivers и посоревноваться с самим собой или с другом в скорости выполнения раскладки. Кроме того, любая игра из этого сборника неплохо тренирует память и периферийное зрение. Сложность не слишком высока, так что особо напрягаться не потребуется. Короче, игра доставит массу удовольствия и взрослым и детям (последним она еще и принесет колоссальную пользу). Всем советую ставить и играть.

Маджонг - это моя любимая логическая игра. Я получаю большое удовольствие разгадывая эту головоломку вечарами и в перерыве на обед. Сегодня я вам представляю пожалуй самую удачную версию игры маджонг - Kyodai Mahjongg 2006. Впервые с этой игрой я познакомился в далеком 99 году. После этого я перепробовал многие варианты игры, которым явно не хватало хорошего дизайна и приятной музыки. Недели 2 назад знакомый мне дал эту версию. За 9 лет игра пережила около 70 релизов, что пошло ей только на пользу. В игре все также помимо основной головоломки маджонг остались еще 6 головоломок, описывать которые нет смысла. Но поверьте мне на слово, они вас не разочаруют. Из списка языков можно выбрать русский. Также можно поменять фон доски, рисунок фишек основной игры (в игре они названы "фишки", я предпочитаю Ancient) и рисунок фишек к дополнительным играм (в игре - маленькие фишки, рекомендую вам Kanji), музыку и другие настройки.
К сожалению игра платная, но вы можете играть в нее в течени месяца периодически получая напоминания о покупке. Как поступить с игрой дальше каждый решит по совести сам. Если купить игру, то все последующие апдейты вы будете получать бесплатно.

Butterfly Kyodai Mahjong - InstructionsHOW TO PLAY. Butterfly Kyodai follows the rules of mahjong connect games.
The object is to clear the board as quickly as possible by clicking unblocked, matching pairs of butterflies. To begin, click the START GAME button on the title screen.
BLOCKED VS. UNBLOCKED. Two butterflies of the same species can be connected and removed from the board if:
an open path exists between them, and
the path has no more than 2 right-angle turns (that is, 0, 1, or 2 corners only).
To remove a pair of butterflies, click the first butterfly, then click the other. A red line connecting the two butterflies displays, as shown in the image below.
The connected butterflies then flit away gracefully. Don't be distracted by them, because this kyodai mahjong game is devious. It may be relaxing to watch butterflies in flight, but the timer is still ticking!
The simplest matching pair is when same-species butterflies are located next to each other. This can occur on the edge of the board or somewhere in the middle.
Because they are easy to spot, I usually look for these simple pairs first, to help clear out the center of the board. An alternative strategy might be to save some of these obvious matches for later, when you might need some quick matches to pump up the timer.
At the beginning of the game, the other type of available pair can occur along one side of the board. Butterflies on different sides of the board cannot be connected, because the path would require three right-angle turns (which is not allowed).
LANGUAGE. This game can be played in any of 20 different languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Swedish. Select your preferred language from the pull-down menu on the main title screen.
TIMER. Pay attention to the timer as you clear matching pairs. The timer is the horizontal blue bar located in the upper left area of the game screen. If the timer reaches zero, it's game over and the Time Out screen appears. To restart the game, click the PLAY AGAIN button on the Time Out screen.
Each time you clear a matching pair of butterflies, a small amount of time is added to the timer. This rewards you for clearing pairs quickly.
TIPS. If you get stuck and time is running out, click the TIPS button. This displays a hint on the board. Red squares are shown around an available matching pair of butterflies. You get 3 hints per game.
RESET. Another alternative if you get stuck is to reshuffle the board. Reshuffling mixes the existing butterflies.
It does not reload a full board of butterflies, and it does leave open the spaces you've already cleared. You get 3 resets per game.
SCORES: The Scores box keeps track of the number of pairs you've removed from the board.
PAUSE. If you need to stop this kyodai mahjong game for a few minutes, click the Pause button in the upper right corner. Click the Resume button to continue the game.
The more you play this beautiful butterfly kyodai game, the faster you'll be able to spot available pairs. This increase in skill is evidence that your concentration and visual perception may be improving through practice.
So, if at first you don't succeed, don't get frustrated. Just keep playing!
