Light Night is a cultural event which first happened in the city of Leeds in October 2005, as part of the launch of the region-wide Illuminate Cultural Festival.
Nuit Blanche is a growing global trend which since 2005 Leeds has been leading in the UK. Leeds was joined by Bradford. Sheffield. York and Hull for Light Night 2006. Several other major cities across the country such as Birmingham hosted Light Night events in 2008. This has spread even further in 2009 and includes Belfast. Liverpool and Nottingham .

The Night Light provides light, similar to a Campfire. but can only be fueled using Nightmare Fuel. One Nightmare Fuel provides light for 175 seconds. The Night Light's maximum light output requires 3 Nightmare Fuel. It does not provide warmth, so it will not prevent Freezing and does not cause Overheating. Once placed, the Night Light cannot be moved (only destroyed/deconstructed).
Standing next to an active Night Light will lowers the player's Sanity by 3 per minute (except for Willow. who gains up to +7/min). Being near the Night Light at dusk or night increases the total Sanity drain to 8 points per minute. The Sanity drain can be avoided by standing some distance away.

In the Reign of Giants DLC, when a Night Light begins to smolder, it will not burst into flames, but instead lights up as if it were fueled.

Light Night is a cultural event which first happened in the city of Leeds in October 2005, as part of the launch of the region-wide Illuminate Cultural Festival.
Based on the european model of Nuit Blanche. founded in Paris in 2002, the idea of Light Night is to open cultural and other venues across the city late into the night and play host to unusual / unexpected cultural events. In October 2005, these 'unusual cultural events' included a string quartet playing at the top of the Town Hall clocktower, a tour round a pitch black church with only a torch and a sinister audio-guide that could not be trusted, and a 'Treasure Hunt' from the Institute for Crazy Dancing. The Treasure Hunt involved 200 audience members being led across the city and becoming a show in their own right, collecting white boiler suits and umbrellas en route, and dancing up and down Briggate. the main shopping street, with three shire horses, an ice cream van and the bagpipes of Leeds Pipe Band.
Despite the end of the Illuminate Festival, Light Night continues and grows in Leeds. with over 30 venues set to open for the 2007 event on October 12.

Open their doors for LightNight
LJMU is this year’s Principal Sponsor of LightNight, Liverpool’s one-night arts and culture festival, which last year attracted over 50,000 visitors.
The annual event returns to illuminate the city for a sixth year on Friday 15 May 2015, from 4.00pm until late.
As Principal Sponsor, LJMU will be hosting a Light Night Hub at Rodney House on Mount Pleasant, providing festival visitors with information about the vast array of events taking place around the city and giving them the opportunity to purchase the much-sought-after LightNight tote bags and badges.
LJMU’s own contribution is extensive and will include an exclusive, one-night-only late opening of the ‘Gyorgy Kepes, The New Landscape ’ exhibition at the University’s School of Art and Design on Duckinfield Street, off Brownlow Hill. Visitors will also have a unique opportunity to visit the Creative Writing, Drama, Film, Journalism and Media Production Degree Shows held in the Redmonds Building, Brownlow Hill.
LJMU staff and students from Astrophysics. FaceLab, Open Labs, Maritime Studies and the Racing Team will also be holding a range of hands-on activities to give members of the public access to their research in user-friendly, entertaining and informative formats.
In addition a series of talks on the history of the Cunard will be given by Lecturers from the School of Humanities and Social Science and the University’s archive of Cunard material, entitled Life on the Ocean Wave. will be on display at the Everyman Theatre, along with music and deck games highlighting the glamour of life on board ship.
LJMU Architecture graduates and Deutsche Bank prize winners MAPOUT will also be projecting a must see show on to the exterior of The Science Park Building IC2.

Пятеро подростков собрались ночью в лесу, чтобы сыграть в давнюю забаву — сумеречные прятки. Завязывают, значит, кому-то глаза, и через время он ходит по лесной чаще с фонариком, ищет остальных, кто спрятался. Чем такая игра может закончиться? Да чем угодно, что в реальности, что в кино.
У нас то жанр ужасов, но до какого-то момента роли это никакой не играет. Что, наверное, и подкупает в фильме Скотта Бека и Брайана Вудса, снятом в старой доброй манере «Ведьмы из Блэр». Тупые экстремалы-тинейджеры, выписанные будто прямиком из слэшеров (уж больно диалоги здесь забавляют), вроде бы приезжают в знакомое изученное место, но практически сразу перестают что-либо понимать в навигации. Будто вместо знакомого леса заехали в соседний неизученный. Как если бы я отправился гулять по родному пику Тяпкина и не нашёл ни одной протоптанной тропинки. Какие-то волки, крутые скалистые обрывы, бесконечно падающие деревья, пещерные катакомбы, затерянные кладбища? Хренасе пряточки, думаешь. Всё это довольно стрёмно и внезапно увлекательно, ведь в подобного рода приключения в большинстве своём реально можно вляпаться, если слегка плутануть. Дополнительный эффект соучастия создаёт весьма похвальная операторская работа Эндрю Дэвиса, выхватывающего в потёмках удачные ракурсы и умещающего в одном кадре монологи, зловещие тени и контролируемое поведение животных.
Попытались себя обезопасить авторы и в случае с методом съёмки. Опять эти трясущиеся записи, что за странная нарезка, кто держит камеру, почему её не вырубают? Забудьте. Грешить на особенности найденных плёнок в этот раз бессмысленно, потому что ничего на камеру, в принципе, не фиксируется. Всё показанное снято от лица ночных фонариков, которые часто глючат из-за каких-то магнитных аномалий и хаотично ходят по рукам. По крайней мере веришь, что бесконечно падающие отовсюду фонари будут попрочнее камер.
Но интересно всё это до поры, до времени. Ночные приключения из мистики потихоньку перескакивают в область паранормального, а хаотичная беготня начинает выводить из себя. Это просто удивительно, но вроде бы никто за всё время ни разу не вспомнил о том, что пора бы собраться вместе и искать выход из леса, даже если кое-кто пропал с концами. По-предательски, это конечно, но ситуация уже к середине становится для игрунов патовой, да и я бы не сказал, что между тремя девчонками и двумя парнями имеются серьёзные отношения или дружба навек. Если в первую половину фильма герои/жертвы вяло ищут пропавшего заводилу, то вся вторая половина, это уже бездумная очумелая беготня и укрытие от непонятно кого. «У них не было цели, поэтому и умерли» — это будет написано на их надгробиях. К типичным ошибкам молодых авторов следует также добавить итоговую осязаемость лесной силы, что, конечно же, снижает градус интереса, да и выливается в итоге в какие-то бескрайние полёты фонаря.
По итогу, кино неожиданно затейливо снято, но на последнюю треть запала авторам всё-таки не хватило.
